Licensed Professional Counselor & Marriage Family Therapist Jill White-Huffman joins us on the Good Morning show to talk healthy relationships.

She says you get a healthy one by purposefully setting time aside to talk to one another without distractions. You also individually and collectively make a conscious effort to decide to start peeling back onion layers from the external to the deeper layers as the relationship strengthens.

Some things couples may want to avoid when opening up to one another is judging, criticizing, dismissing and minimizing. Actively listening and staying present and in the moment might be most helpful when each partner reveals layers to each other.
