WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WFMY) - All lanes of University Parkway between Long Drive and Bethabara Road were closed after a four-vehicle crash Tuesday morning. A man in a black Acura was going the wrong way on the Parkway, causing a head-on collision in the southbound lanes around 6:40 a.m. according to police.

The driver of the Acura, Handy Green, was heading north in the southbound lanes when he crossed the median south of Polo Road and continued driving on the wrong side of the road. Green collided with a red Honda that caused two more cars to crash. Green was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the red Honda, Lisa Fuller, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other two drivers were not transported and are okay. Four people were involved.

The road was shut down for several hours.
