Nothing puts a damper on your day quite like a dead phone battery. It's inconvenient at best.
But it could even be dangerous when you're traveling. Life Hacker has a few ways you can save your battery.
Background apps could be draining your phone. Head to your settings and check your app usage. You'll see every app that's running in the background and you can turn the ones you don't need off.
Speaking of apps the ones you do use often have a travel mode that uses less data and battery power. Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter all have travel settings that can save you power and data.
You can even cut back if you need your phone's GPS. Google maps allows you to download local maps that you can access without having to get on the internet. Just hit the menu lines in the search bar to access those online maps.
